Spring is the time to watch for the Rapture !!
Throughout each year I think about the possibility of this being the year of the rapture.
I’m not one who tries to date the time of the rapture.
However, the scriptures provides information as to the time of year the rapture will happen.
Matthew 24:3. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Jesus goes through this dissertation about the tribulation then he adds this parable.
Matthew 24:32. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves (before it bears fruit), ye know that summer is nigh: (nigh = close or near)33. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.34. Verily I say unto you, This generation (future generation, v 22 ‘those days’) shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.36. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
So, we can’t know the day or the hour of the rapture, which includes the year.
Keep in mind that ‘the summer is nigh’; a time before summer.
I Thessalonians 4:16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Comfort one another about the rapture. Now lets go on.
I Thessalonians 5:1. But of the times and the seasons (notice it says ‘the times and the seasons’ not ‘day and hour’), brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. (Why?)2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (we can know the times and seasons of a birth)4. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. (vigilant)7. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.8. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,10. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.11. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Comfort yourselves together about the fact that we should know the times and seasons of the rapture.
Only by studying the scriptures can you know what to watch for.
The rapture is like a harvest, three parts; OT saints, NT saints, Trib saints; first fruits, harvest, gleanings
Turn to Deuteronomy 16
Deuteronomy 16:16. Three times in a year (a picture of three raptures) shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread (March April), and in the feast of weeks (May June), and in the feast of tabernacles (September October): and they shall not appear before the Lord empty:
The rapture of the OT saints, NT saints and the Trib saints coincides with these three feasts.
Turn to Leviticus 23
Leviticus 23:5. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.6. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 8 consecutive days at Passover and the Feast of the Unleavened Bread
Christ was crucified on Passover and there was a seven day feast afterwards, Feast of the Unleavend Bread.
Matthew 27:50. Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. At Passover51. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;52. And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, (Rapture of the OT saints during the Feast of the Unleavened Bread picturing all the saints of Israel without sin)53. And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
These are the OT saints; the first fruits of the rapture, after Jesus’ resurrection, March or April; the first part of the harvest.
When will the NT saints rapture take place?
Back to Deuteronomy 16
Deuteronomy 16:16. Three times in a year (a picture of three raptures) shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread (March April, OT saints has already taken place), and in the feast of weeks (May June), and in the feast of tabernacles (September October): and they shall not appear before the Lord empty:
Back to Matthew 24
Matthew 24:32. Now learn a parable of the fig tree (Israel); When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves (before it bears fruit), ye know that summer is nigh: (nigh = close or near)33.
Turn to Song of Solomon.
Song of Solomon is about a king and his bride, spiritually Jesus and his bride, the church.
Song of Solomon 2:10. My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. (a type of rapture, a calling out)11. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; (spring rains are over, going into summer; Jesus said in Matthew, ‘summer is nigh’)12. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;13. The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. (type of rapture)
Winter is past, Spring rains are over and summer is nigh.
Joel 2:23. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. (Nisan = mid March to mid April; both rains in one month; summer is near)
Winter is past, Spring rains are over, the former and latter rains both come in mid March or mid April and summer is nigh.
What is the significance of the former and latter rains both coming in mid March or mid April?
Hosea 6:3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
The Lord, he shall come unto us as the rain.
James 5:7. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
When the former and latter rains come at the same time tells us the times and seasons of the Lord’s coming for the saints and our rapture.
NT saints rapture will be after winter but before summer during the time of the Feast of Weeks, May or June. Winter is past, Spring rains are over and summer is nigh.
The Feast of Weeks is also called Pentecost, seven weeks after Passover, on the fiftieth day after the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.
Deuteronomy 16:10. And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Lord thy God, according as the Lord thy God hath blessed thee: (He has saved thee)11. And thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, (anyone can be saved by freewill) in the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
On Pentecost in Acts 2 is the first time anyone could be saved and received the indwelling of the Holy Ghost and three thousand souls were saved. At Pentecost in the OT at the giving of the law three thousand souls were slayed. Pentecost is freedom from the law and moving towards grace. Christ set us free from the law in granting us salvation. Now we will be freed from the law and bondage of this world, this flesh and Satanic influence.
The Lord is showing us that the beginning and ending of the ‘Church Age’ happens at the same time of year.
The rapture of the OT saints is the first fruits of the harvest, the rapture of the NT saints is the main harvest.
Tribulation saints will be the gleanings of the harvest raptured during the time of the Feast of Tabernacles, September or October.
Back to Deuteronomy 16
Deuteronomy 16:16. Three times in a year (a picture of three raptures) shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread (March April, OT saints has already taken place), and in the feast of weeks (May June, NT saints raptured), and in the feast of tabernacles (September October): and they shall not appear before the Lord empty:
There are three sabbaths within the seventh month, September./October.
Leviticus 23: 23. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,24. Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.25. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.26. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,27. Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.28. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.29. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.30. And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.31. Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.32. It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.33. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,34. Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.35. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.36. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
Blowing of the trumpets:
Revelation 9:13. And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
The day of atonement:
Revelation 11:12. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Then comes the 1000 year reign with Christ. The feast of tabernacles.
Funk & Wagnalls Standard Desk Dictionary, tabernacling = “to dwell or place in”.
Exodus 40:33. And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.34. Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.35. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.36. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:37. But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.38. For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. (God tabernacling with the people.)
Celebrate the Feasts, by Martha Zimmerman, page 162, “It is a reminder that the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness, after the Lord led them out of Egypt.” This is just as when the Lord will lead the tribulation saints into the wilderness.
Matthew 24:16. Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Revelation 6:15. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
Page 162. “The sukkah (huts or booths) represents the faith they had in the Lord that He would take them safely to the promise land. When we sit in a sukkah, we declare our faith in God believing that just as He guided His children in that physical, earthly desert, delivering them to the land flowing with milk and honey, He will keep His promise to us and guide us to our permanent home in the promise land of heaven.”
Thru this rapture God will lead them to the literal promise land when Jesus sits on the throne of David in Jerusalem. This feast is also called, by the Jews, the Festival of Booths.
Leviticus 23:40. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.41. And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.42. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:43. That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Page 162. “The booth is a reminder of the temporary endurance of material buildings as opposed to the permanent and abiding strength of our Lord and the heavenly shelter that He promises.”
The dwellings during the millennium will be permanent. This feast is also called, by the Jews, the Festival of Ingathering.
Leviticus 23:39. Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
CTF, by MZ, page 163. “As you harvest crops or notice fall produce at the market, remember that they symbolize God’s final harvest of His children."
A picture of the gleanings of the harvest, the final group to be raptured before the millennium reign of Christ.
Matthew 24: 31. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.Revelation 7:1. And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.Revelation 7:14. And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.Revelation 11:12. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.Matthew 13:24. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:25. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.26. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.27. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?28. He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?29. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.Matthew 13:38. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.40. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.43. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.Revelation 14:15. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.16. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
